How have I not uploaded this here yet? Insanity. Especially when I want all you lovely DA users to give me feedback. I had such a blast working on this cover - my first ever. Hopefully, I will get the opportunity to do more so go write tons of letters begging them to let me do more, old-school style. With handwritten, stamped mail and everything. Obviously, the cover if a riff on Downton Abbey, and it was at the suggestion of the head at Hastings Bookstore, which is where this was an exclusive. The show is just entering the roaring 20s, and so I wanted to really embrace that. The clothes were more fun and a bit easier on modern eyes in the 20s. I still tried to keep the older characters in more 1910s/20s cusp dressed, while the younger women were flapper central. Let me know what you think!
Breathtaking. Storm and Rogue look so fierce!
Probably THE best thing I have seen in a while. I just love it so much. Brilliant job capturing the style and executing it so well. Huge fan of your work. What medium did you use?
When I was in Hastings this evening, I saw this comic and got so excited, because I recognized your style! Of course I had to buy it too, and now it sits on my shelf. Keep up the great work!
Any chance this would be available to purchase in poster form? My love for this piece knows no bounds...
reminds me of clue...well the colors
what technique is this? what media? this looks like old fashion... looks cool though
Flapper Art Deco X-Men. This makes me wish X-Men was like this all the time.
Amazing! I love how you mix fashion with beloved characters. Beautiful colors and beautiful designs!
The one in orange kinda looks like Peppy Miller, doesn't she? ^^
Amazing art pic
So beautiful!! Amazing colours.
This is awesome!!!!
It's like X-Men meets Downton Abbey, two things I would never have thought to put together and you've done it beautifully.
I love stormsdress the most
I hunted everywhere for this variant and still have yet to find it! It's so beautiful! Such gorgeous designs and coloring.
Absolutely smashing and brilliant, old boy. I lift my cup of Darjeeling in your honor. Cheers!
your work is really amazing and your style is really really cool, I'd like so much cause it can seem like a fashion illustration without change de proportion or change the features. And (omg) the way you make the expressions, not only with their faces, also with their poses! . I admire and love your work and more than once i have used it like a reference when i drawing.
I'll appreciate if you told us a little about the way that you paint. It is a mix between traditional and digital? or just traditional?
saw this at the comic book store and bought it just for the cover.
Oh Lovely!! As always. Mind if I ask who's who? My knowledge of the x-mens rosters is rusty these days..
Very good XD
A stunning and interesting take! Storm looks just like Naomi Campbell, and all are just as fierce.
hehe.. nice point-of-view. classic.
Absolutely stunning. I can't decide which one I like the best! It has so much personality. I'd love to see you draw them in fashions through the decades!
I love everything about this! Consider me one of the snail-mail letter writers begging you to do more!
will you do DC characters? like the girls from the teen titans? they've been around since the 60's so there'd be varied style to look at
I actually intend on doing more DC characters very soon! I know even less about them than I do Marvel characters (not that I know that much on them either...) but I'm excited!
oh m god!!this is just amazing! I love everything, and a special mention to psylocke. I love her dress and Is Ororo wearing a dress or is it a skirt and a top? I love it and their hairdress change a lot from their usual ones :3 I wish you could do more!
This is like X-men meets Gatsby amazing!!
This. Is. Stunning. The colors, the textures, the designs. They're all perfect.
I aspire to have even an iota of your incredible talent.
