Here is a recent commission I had for a fashion spread featuring some X-men women. For a more full explanation on this piece go here: www.kevinwadaart.blogspot.com.
I definitely skewed in favor of fashion over comic influence this time around, but hopefully the characters are still recognizable. In case they aren't, I can run you through it real quick. First we have Rogue, then Ms. Marvel. Emma Frost, Polaris, Storm, Psylocke, and Sage. The client wanted edgy fashions, strong poses, and some asian garb inspired clothing choices. I did what I could and had a great time doing this piece.
Be sure to check out the blog for an editorial style rundown of the outfits.
omg!!!!! it's so beautiful!!!!! I love their design and I can recognize everyone great job!

you'd be surprised by the amount of work I do on them. Asma is currently the character I worked the most on. -and I don't show much on DA- not only with pencils, but also with words.
Oh Kevin, you've done it again! I don't know what else to say beside SUPERB! Once again, your mastery over traditional media is shown here, as evidenced in Ms. Marvel's dress and the gradient in Storm's gown (which I am DROOLING over). Everything here is just to die for. I also love the fact that you portrayed the women in high fashion supermodel poses, as opposed to regular T&A comic book twists they're usually portrayed in; it gives us a softer side to these women. I'm a huge X-Men fan and I love seeing my girls portrayed in such a way. Again, the fashion choices made here are just to die for! I am especially in love their shoes; from Polaris's gladiator-like heels to Psylocke's sassy red straps and even Ms. Marvel's cut-out booties over there! These girls can werk! The accessories are a fabulous touch as well!
As a hardcore Storm fanboy, I have to say that I will always love your portrayal of her. This piece is no exception. Ororo looks like Fatima Siad in this particular drawing, and I have no problem with that
Anyway, I can go on forever about how much I love this piece. For now I'll just add it to my favorites and wait for what else you have in store for us!
